meet the animals
Meet our red fox, Todd! Todd has been in our care since the spring of 2016. Todd is considered nonreleasable because of a leg injury. Todd's hind leg was trapped in a hunter’s snare trap, breaking his leg and ultimately causing it to heal improperly. Because of this, Todd has a permanent limp, and this is managed with close observation and daily medication. In the wild, this injury would inhibit Todd from hunting properly as he is unable to get up to high speeds to capture prey. Todd has found his home here in the Wildlife Center, where he receives daily enrichment and training. Todd knows many commands such as “stand”, “up” and “station.” This positive reinforcement training is beneficial for veterinary exams and medication administration. Todd is an omnivore, and his favorite foods are turkey meatballs and apples.
